Capsule keys are used to unlock new characters and are divided into several categories: Basic Capsule, Premium Capsule, Hero Capsule, Villain Capsule, Battle Pass Capsule, Ranked Assault Capsule.

Each of these Capsules will contain characters with varying rarities and power levels.

Basic Capsule: this capsule features only characters with 4 stars and below. It can be opened once for free about every half day, and then for Gems following that.

Premium Capsule: contains Legendary Characters. Premium Capsules may be earned from the Battle Pass or purchased from the Item Shop using Character Credits.

Hero/Villain Capsule: These are specific capsules that let you earn a character from pools of Heroes or Villains only, respectively. These capsules can be earned doing Choice Missions, as well as using currency earned from Assault in the Assault portion of the Item Shop.

Battle Pass Capsule: Features characters with an increased chance of being earned, particularly 5-star characters who may not be in the Premium Capsule, or better odds for those also available from that Capsule. This Capsule is opened using Premium Capsule keys. Premium Capsules may be earned from the Battle Pass or purchased from the Item Shop using Character Credits.

Ranked Assault Capsule: this Capsule features characters promoted in our bimonthly Ranked Assault season. These characters are only unlocked receiving the points earned by playing Ranked Assault. Earn more Capsules by increasing your rank in Ranked Assault, as they are offered as prizes there.

There are also capsules for Materials: Rare, Epic, Legendary, Unique Epic and Unique Legendary. These capsules provide valuable gear that will assist with training your characters to higher levels.

Rare, Epic and Legendary material Capsules can be earned using Assault Credits in the Shop.

Unique Epic and Legendary Epic material Capsules can be earned using Ranked Assault Credits in the Shop.
