Only Facebook players can be in-game friends. After a game, you will receive a prompt asking if you want to invite them to be friends with you. If you invite them, they will see your invitation in their inbox. Once they accept, you are friends and can challenge each other. You may also invite friends from the Live section on the bottom of the screen.
