Creatures that have Gen 2 in their name are creatures with altered DNA. The DNA alterations change some of the features of the creature, such as their appearance and abilities in Battle. This puts creatures with Gen 2 in their name into a separate category from their original form. 

Please note that Gen 2 creatures are not considered hybrids, as they are variants of their original form.
